At a glance: The Huanghai SY-6DN is a 4-in-1 tablet tester from Huanghai Pharmaceutical Instruments (Shanghai, since 1978) that puts dissolution, disintegration, hardness and friability testing in one system with a smaller bench footprint than separate instruments. What the Huanghai SY-6DN does for your lab
- Four tests, one footprint. Dissolution, disintegration, hardness and friability in a single system take less bench space than four separate instruments.
- Six-vessel dissolution. Six channels for USP <711> Apparatus 1 (basket) and 2 (paddle) at 10–300 RPM, with automatic centring of vessel and stirrer and two 150 mL fluid-replenishment cups.
- Disintegration included. One basket group with six tubes runs at 30–32 strokes/min over a 55 ± 1 mm stroke, with a 2.0 mm sieve as standard and 0.42, 0.71 and 1.0 mm optional.
- Hardness and diameter in one pass. The hardness module is the YPD-350N module: 10–350 N and tablet diameter 2–25 mm, up to 1,000 tablets in a continuous run with an adjustable interval, and a viewing window over the test chamber. A 500 N or 700 N upgrade is available.
- Friability drum. A 286 mm drum with count mode (1–1,000 revolutions, default 100 at 25 RPM) and clockwise or counter-clockwise rotation.
- Built-in data integrity. Password login, three permission levels, audit trail, data backup, sample information management and USB export or printing keep every run traceable. The instrument is designed with features that support a 21 CFR Part 11 workflow.
- Heating that starts when you want it. Set a start time and the system begins heating by itself. Temperature control from room temperature to 45.0 °C (≤ ±0.3 °C) comes with dual over-temperature protection and temperature calibration.
- Easier water circuit. A convenient water-circulation layout with medical-grade quick connectors, plus IQ/OQ documentation supplied with the instrument.

Can the hardness module go above 350 N?

Does the SY-6DN measure tablet diameter?
Yes, 2–25 mm at 0.1 mm resolution (±0.1 mm), in the same test as hardness. It does not measure thickness.
How much bench space does it need?
The instrument measures 63 × 57 × 55 cm, so one unit replaces four separate testers on the bench.
Can the system heat on a schedule?
Yes. Set a start time and the SY-6DN begins heating by itself.
