Pyrogen Test System (Rabbit Method)
Rabbit pyrogen test system from Huanghai
The Huanghai WRY-A9 is a rabbit-method pyrogen test system, supplied by Huanghai Pharmaceutical Instruments (Shanghai, since 1978). It records rabbit body temperature on up to 60 probes and keeps every record ready for audit. The rabbit method is a biological test described in pharmacopoeia monographs, and it is a different method from the bacterial endotoxin (LAL) test.
The system has three matching parts: the WRY-A9 host unit, the RBY-2 probe calibrator and the RST-12A stainless-steel rabbit workstation.
Why labs choose the Huanghai WRY-A9
- Temperature readings you can rely on. It measures 35–50 °C with 0.01–0.1 °C resolution and ±0.05 °C accuracy.
- Grows with your rabbit room. Up to 60 probes, with 24 as standard. The RST-12A workstation holds 12 rabbits.
- A loose probe never goes unnoticed. A full-screen live display shows a zoomable temperature curve. If a probe comes off, its text turns red and the system sounds an alarm.
- Calibration without starting over. Automatic 5-point calibration supports parallel testing, resuming from a breakpoint and single-point correction. The RBY-2 calibrator takes 8 probes at a time.
- Records ready for audit. The audit trail logs every query, modification, print and archive. The system meets FDA 21 CFR Part 11 requirements for electronic record security and traceability.
- Data flows straight to your LIMS. A built-in data service means no manual export or import.
- Rabbit records in one place. Full-lifecycle rabbit records with smart recommendation of available animals.
- 10-year warranty. Repairs and spare parts are free during the warranty period, except wear-part probes.
Who it is for
Pharmaceutical companies, universities, research institutes and quality-inspection agencies that run the rabbit pyrogen test.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the rabbit pyrogen test and the bacterial endotoxin (LAL) test?
The rabbit pyrogen test is a biological method that monitors rabbits' body temperature after dosing, as described in pharmacopoeia monographs. It is a different method from the bacterial endotoxin (LAL) test. The WRY-A9 is built for the rabbit method.
What does the WRY-A9 system include?
Three parts: the WRY-A9 host unit, the RBY-2 probe calibrator and the RST-12A stainless-steel rabbit workstation.
How many rabbits and probes can the system handle at once?
The host unit supports up to 60 temperature probes, with 24 as standard. The RST-12A workstation holds 12 rabbits, and custom sizes are available on request.
Can the WRY-A9 connect to our LIMS?
Yes. An open, standardized interface lets a LIMS retrieve pyrogen test data through a configured communication protocol, with no manual export or import.
