At a glance: The Huanghai WRY-A9 is a rabbit-method pyrogen test system that records rabbit body temperature on up to 60 probes and keeps the data audit-ready, for pharmacopoeia pyrogen tests on injectable products. It comes from Huanghai Pharmaceutical Instruments (Shanghai, since 1978), with the RST-12A stainless-steel rabbit workstation and the RBY-2 probe calibrator as matching parts of the system.

What the Huanghai WRY-A9 does for your pyrogen test room

  • Temperature readings you can rely on. Measures 35–50 °C with 0.01–0.1 °C resolution and ±0.05 °C accuracy, so small temperature rises after dosing show up clearly.
  • Grows with your rabbit room. Up to 60 probes, with 24 as standard, in titanium-alloy rigid or silicone soft versions. The RST-12A workstation holds 12 rabbits.
  • A loose probe never goes unnoticed. A full-screen live display shows a zoomable temperature curve. If a probe comes off, its text turns red and the system sounds an alarm.
  • Calibration without starting over. Automatic 5-point probe calibration saves and prints its results, and supports parallel testing, resuming from a breakpoint and single-point correction. The RBY-2 calibrator takes 8 probes at a time over 37–41 °C.
  • Test data stays safe. Automatic and manual backup, plus triple voltage regulation for no drift over long runs. After a sudden power cut the software reconnects automatically within 60 minutes and carries on monitoring.
  • Records ready for audit. Role-based permissions and password management, and an audit trail that logs every query, modification, print and archive. The system meets FDA 21 CFR Part 11 requirements for electronic record security and traceability, and GMP data-integrity (ALCOA+) requirements.
  • Data flows straight to your LIMS. Built-in data service means no manual export or import: a LIMS retrieves pyrogen test data through a configured protocol over an open, standardized interface. COM or USB connection suits desktop and laptop computers.
  • Rabbit records in one place. Full-lifecycle rabbit records with smart recommendation of available animals, so each test uses rabbits that meet pharmacopoeia requirements and your institution's usage policy.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the rabbit pyrogen test and the bacterial endotoxin (LAL) test?
The rabbit pyrogen test is a biological method that monitors rabbits' body temperature after dosing, as described in pharmacopoeia monographs. It is a different method from the bacterial endotoxin (LAL) test. The WRY-A9 is built for the rabbit method: multi-probe live temperature monitoring, automatic calibration and audit-ready data capture. Contact us to discuss which method fits your testing requirements.

What does the WRY-A9 system include?
The system has three parts: the WRY-A9 host unit, the RBY-2 probe calibrator and the RST-12A stainless-steel rabbit workstation. Contact us for the configuration you need.

How many rabbits and probes can the WRY-A9 system handle at once?
The host unit supports up to 60 temperature probes, with 24 as standard. The RST-12A workstation holds 12 rabbits, and custom sizes are available on request.

Can the WRY-A9 connect to our LIMS and support FDA 21 CFR Part 11 data requirements?
Yes. An open, standardized interface lets a LIMS retrieve test data without manual export or import. The system meets FDA 21 CFR Part 11 requirements for electronic record security and traceability and GMP data-integrity (ALCOA+) requirements, and its audit trail logs every query, modification, print and archive.

What happens if a probe comes loose during a test?
The WRY-A9 monitors every probe in real time. If one detaches, its reading turns red on the screen and the system sounds an alarm, so you catch it before it compromises the run.

What happens to a run if the power fails?
A memory-module chip lets the software reconnect automatically within 60 minutes of a sudden power cut and continue temperature monitoring.

What warranty comes with the WRY-A9?
The WRY-A9 system carries a 10-year warranty. Repairs and spare parts are free during the warranty period, except wear-part probes. Technical consultation is free.
