Tablet Multi-Purpose Tester

Tablet Multi-Purpose Tester

Running hardness, friability, disintegration, and dissolution on separate instruments means separate calibration, separate data logs, and separate footprints. Our SY-6DN Intelligent 4-in-1 Tablet Tester combines all four tests in one system.

Key Features

  • 4-in-1: hardness, friability, disintegration, and dissolution in one instrument
  • 3-level user management, audit trail, and USB data export

Applications

  • QC labs consolidating multiple tablet physical tests into one workflow
  • Labs with limited bench space needing full tablet-testing coverage

When a 4-in-1 tablet tester makes sense

The SY-6DN from Huanghai Pharmaceutical Instruments (Shanghai, since 1978) combines dissolution, disintegration, hardness and friability testing in one system with shared temperature control and one data system. Dissolution runs 6 vessels with USP Apparatus 1 and 2 at 10–300 RPM, and the hardness module is the same as the YPD-350N (10–350 N, tablet diameter 2–25 mm). It suits labs that need all four tests but have limited bench space.

Model comparison

Module Specification Method chapters
Dissolution 6 vessels (1,000 ml), USP 1 basket / 2 paddle, 10–300 RPM (≤±1%) ChP 0931, USP <711>, Ph. Eur. 2.9.3
Disintegration 1 basket (6 tubes), 30–32 strokes/min, stroke 55 ± 1.0 mm ChP 0921, USP <701>, Ph. Eur. 2.9.1
Hardness 10–350 N (0.01 N resolution, ±1.5% ±1 digit), diameter 2–25 mm USP <1217>, Ph. Eur. 2.9.8
Friability 1 drum (about 287 mm), 20–100 RPM, 1–1,000 revolutions ChP 0923, USP <1216>, Ph. Eur. 2.9.7

How to choose

  • Limited bench space or one instrument budget: SY-6DN covers all four routine physical tests with one temperature system (20–45 °C, ≤±0.3 °C) and one data system.
  • High daily volume in a single test: separate instruments let tests run in parallel, for example an 8- or 12-vessel dissolution tester, the LB-3D disintegration tester or the YPD-350N hardness tester.
  • Harder tablets: the hardness module can be upgraded to 500 N or 700 N.
  • Light-sensitive APIs: amber glass dissolution vessels of the same size are available.
  • Regulated QC: 3-level user management (Admin / Power User / User), audit trail, USB export and RS232 printer.

Pharmacopoeia and compliance

Dissolution ChP 0931 / USP <711> / Ph. Eur. 2.9.3; disintegration ChP 0921 / USP <701> / Ph. Eur. 2.9.1; friability ChP 0923 / USP <1216> / Ph. Eur. 2.9.7; hardness USP <1217> / Ph. Eur. 2.9.8 (ChP has no tablet-hardness method). IQ/OQ documentation templates are supplied.

Frequently asked questions

Which tests does the SY-6DN perform?
Dissolution (6 vessels, USP Apparatus 1 and 2), disintegration (6 tubes), hardness (10–350 N with tablet diameter 2–25 mm) and friability (one drum).

Is the hardness module the same as a standalone hardness tester?
Yes. It is the same hardness module as the YPD-350N: 10–350 N, 0.01 N resolution, ±1.5% ±1 digit, diameter 2–25 mm.

SY-6DN or separate instruments?
SY-6DN saves bench space and keeps one data system for four tests. Separate instruments make sense when one test, usually dissolution, runs all day and needs more vessels.

Does the SY-6DN have user management and audit trail?
Yes: 3-level user management (Admin / Power User / User), an audit trail, USB export and an RS232 printer.
